News update: – December 12, 2019, Recently Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, chaired a meeting in Islamabad capital of Pakistan on Wednesday. This meeting was to revive the Pakistan steel mill and review the steps taken in the favor of Pakistan steel mill.
Furthermore, The Prime Minister was informed about the interest expressed by various international companies for the revival of steel mills in Pakistan. Mr. Khan specially asked the team to select an international company in a transparent manner for the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills.
In addition, Russian Trade Minister Denis Valentinovich, while talking to press in a joint press conference along with Hammad Azhar in Islamabad, has said that Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) was established with the cooperation of Russian experts. While he said that We will extend cooperation to Pakistan to revive the Steel Mills and enhance its productivity,” said Denis Valentinovich during the sixth meeting of Pakistan-Russia intergovernmental Commission at the foreign office.
Additionally, Mr. Denis expressed a keen interest in interest in building the geological capacity of Pakistan apart from building the North-South Gas Pipeline. Mr. Denis Valentinovich also said that Russia wishes to cooperate with Pakistan in the aircraft industrial sector, adding that there are vast opportunities for cooperation in the field of cultivation.
Furthermore, Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar said Pakistan wants to change relations with Russia into a strategic partnership. Applauding the Russian proposal to revive Pakistan Steel Mills, he said there is a huge possibility of collaboration among the two countries in the energy sector.
