Minister offers Chinese stockholders to benefit from Privatization Plan

News Update: – 21 January 2020, according to the recent statement in which Mr. Mian Soomro said that earlier he was in talks with the Chinese representative. Mr. Mian Soomro invited him to his Islamabad office for further matter discussions on the betterment and future collaborations.

In addition, both leaders discussed issues related to the economy, trade cooperation, diplomacy, and other issues. The leaders talked about related to mutual interests between the two friendly countries tested at all times.

Additionally, Muhammad Mian Soomro said that China can benefit from Pakistan’s privatization program. He asked Chinese businessmen to come forward and join the program.

Furthermore, on the occasion, the Chinese representative said that investments are growing rapidly in the various sectors of Pakistan. Previously, on September 13, 2019, Muhammad Mian Soomro had declared that the government would sell its shares in the State Life Insurance Corporation.

In a briefing for investors and the financial sector, Muhammad Mian Soomro said that the profit and market share of public life was decreasing, so the government in charge decided to sell its stake in the organization at a loss.

While Mian Soomro also said that the government is focusing on reviving Pakistan Steel Mills. He said there were 204 state-owned enterprises and that they could not privatize all businesses.
