Imports of South Korean billets had increased by nearly 32% in May 2022 compared to April, and the number of imports had risen from 104,040MT to 136,907MT.

Imports of iron ore had increased 68% in May 2022 compared to April 2022, and import quantity had risen from 4.09 mnt to 6.83 mnt. Its major imports were from Australia.

Steel exports of South Korea had increased by 3.7% in May compared to April 2022, and quantity increased from 1.97 mnt to 2.04mnt. Flat Steel exports had risen by 3% at 1.83mnt, longs by 12% at 174,972MT, and Semi by 4% at 31840MT. Its major importers are America with 264,489MT, Japan with 245,156MT, and China with 177,518MT.

Steel billets exports of South Korea had increased by 4% in May 2022 from 30,488MT to 31,840MT.

Major exports to Japan were 15,160MT.
